Marr Pond Farm

Farm

We produce high quality, healthy food and medicine to nourish ourselves and our community, focusing on mushrooms, vegetables, and herbs. Shiitake mushrooms are grown on hardwood logs harvested from our fields as we reclaim them, and fruited in the natural shade of a conifer grove by the edge of Marr Pond. Vegetables and herbs are grown with an emphasis on soil health and sustainable management practices including cover-copping, composting, and low-compaction cultivation to minimize erosion and our impact on the watershed.

We also strive to strengthen and carry on the local traditions of agriculture and land stewardship, while providing educational resources by way of workshops and community involvement.

Come shop with Marr Pond Farm at two of central Maine’s most vibrant farmers markets! The Orono and Downtown Waterville farmers markets both offer a diverse array of local products, from hand crafted soaps and grass-fed Angus beef, to nationally recognized artisan cheeses and locally roasted organic coffee. Marr Pond Farm attends farmers markets seasonally, from June through December. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to learn when we’ll be starting market for the summer, and to see what’s in season on the farm!

This farm accepts eWIC but may not at all locations. Please confirm in advance.
