Visitors should bring snow shoes and tour the trails throughout the 50+ ac sugarbush. Great exercise! If snowmobiling the Rangeley~Oquossoc area follow ITS 84 east out of Oquossoc about 1.2 miles and you will sled right through the sugarbush!
Sugar Shack/Maple Syrup Activities
Maple Syrup Producer, sugarbush is in Rangeley, process at the sugarhouse in Sandy River PLT. I tap approximately 2000 trees. Featured in 2012 Farming Magazine, local papers, Maine Tourism Association, Google & Yahoo travel. Sugar house is designed for a single operator. Features Reverse Osmosis operation, 4'x12' oil fired evaporator, filtering and bottling. Sugarbush is a state of the art grid design using stainless steel vacuum boosters. Sap collection is not the traditional wood building or exposed tank. Maine mountain Maple has the only known mobile sap house with power, vacuum and 1100 gallon tank.
