Open Farm Day in Somerville, ME

June 30 , Somerville ME
On Sunday, June 30th, we will be participating with other members of the Somerville Farmers' Network in an Open Farm Event, opening our historic farms and homesteads for tours to the public from 11-3. Come visit to explore the land, check out the growing gardens, see the animals, and sample and buy farm products. Participating farms will have signs by their mailbox. We ask that you wait for a guide before exploring the farm. Maps available at:

Community Potluck Pig Roast

July 6 , Durham ME
Old Crow Ranch will host a Family Style Potluck Pig Roast on Saturday, July 7th from 5-9 pm. This is a VERY family friendly gathering to eat good food and enjoy the summer together. Tickets are $15/per person and bring a side dish to share, kids 12 and under are free. Please,one potluck offering of 4-6 servings per family of whatever you choose.

This year Nezinscot Farm has partnered with our COOP, Organic Valley, to bring our visitors an educational farm visit that they will never forget!

Enjoy an afternoon at the farm with live musical entertainment and more than 20 other Aroostook County farms! Coinciding with our Open Farm Day events will be our Festival Market!

Summer Herbal Walk & Identification - With Arthur Haines

Nezinscot's herbal day is an opportunity to learn about herbs, shrubs, and trees; both cultivated and wild that are readily available in our backyards and gardens. How and what to harvest as well as their uses in everyday medicine and food. Join Gloria Varney, Arthur Haines and a handful of other artisans as they walk you through their fields, gardens, and woods while sharing their knowledge and love for the landscape. From there, participants will have an opportunity through hands-on workshops to prepare food and medicine with the gatherings. From infused oils to tinctures, electuaries, and teas.
