About Breakneck Ridge Farm

We are retiring but we are participating in Maine Maple Sunday. If we are boiling we will be at the sugarhouse. We have the Huettner family from Monson who are interested in taking over the operation so production will continue. We will still be selling maple syrup and Diana's Maple Italian Dressing here at the farm. We will not have any set hours but as always, if we are here we are open. Best to call ahead 207-997-3922. All the bison are gone to West Ripley. Jeff Lamb and his family are taking over that end of the business. Jeff can be reached at 207-462-1338.

Breakneck Ridge Farm Maple Syrup. Diana's Maple Italian Dressing, great for a dressing on salad or a marinate for chicken, fish, and pork.

.MAPLE SYRUP Making maple syrup starts by first collecting sap from the maple trees in the spring. We have a small maple bush behind the sugarhouse. The big sugar bush starts at the top of Breakneck Ridge and extends down the hill one half mile. We use the newest technology we can find for peak efficiency. It starts at the tree with a check valve adapter on the spout, tubing under vacuum, a streamaway on the back of the evaporator, automatic draw-off and finely the filter press to help give you the best maple syrup possible. You'll still enjoy the unique flavor that comes from our wood fired evaporator.

Operation Type: Diversified

TOURS & SPECIAL EVENTS Maine Maple Sunday A blend of honoring an age-old tradition updated with the latest technology, come visit our sugar house on Maine Maple Sunday, always the 4th Sunday in March. Walk in and smell the sap boiling, enjoy free samples of maple goodies, and watch as Steve turns Maple sap into golden Maple syrup. We plan to be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take the Blanchard Road in from Monson and follow the signs to the sugarhouse. Come meet the Huettner family from Monson and learn about how "Farm in the Woods" is growing. Sample some delicious treats with a unique maple twist and learn about their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program featuring MOFGA certified organic fruits and vegetables. Lunch may be purchased with pulled pork, hot dogs, maple baked beans and other locally grown items on the menu. Credit cards will be accepted. Here at Breakneck Ridge Farm we truly appreciate the patriotism folks have shown us over the years. We sure have made a lot of friends in the last 30+ years that we have opened our farm to the public. We still plan to participate in Maine Maple Sunday every year in March, but will no longer be available for Open Farm Day. We as a family are exploring other avenues, and our time is more limited. We still welcome seeing our friends and patrons.
